the end

the end came pretty quick. some young punks were waiting outside for a show. they probably looked a lil suspicious to cops hanging out where crack is prevalently sold. so they asked these kids what they were doing. "waiting for a show". the cops checked it out cuz it wasnt zoned to be a venue of any sort. they were most concerned about alcohol being served without a permit. then the fire marshal came and had a few complaints, like having 2 exits clearly lit and open during events. then the building inspector came in and he had problems with people living their because it was not zoned for that use, and no handicap access. all those things added up, and it was to much money and effort to make the place legit, so down it had to go. no one got arrested, the tenants had a month to move out and another month to tear down the bowl. almost fair, but a great skate space was lost. some wood went to humbler repairs, some went to the motts new mini, but as i understand it, most of the newer wood sits in storage waiting for a new home that i hope will be half as good.
